Good old sugar cookies during Christmas. The only real photos I have for these are before baking, except for one, because we ate them too fast for me to be able to get an ~aesthetic~ photo. But they turned out, even though they spread a bit, but who cares! A cookie is a cookie.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups flour*
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup butter*
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 egg*
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Recipe:
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Whisk flour, baking soda, and baking powder together
- In a seperate bowl, cream the butter, vanilla extract, and sugar together.
- Add in the egg to the butter mixture and combine.
- Slowly add in the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Form the dough into balls and add to parchment paper or cookie sheet. If you'd like to cut out shapes, instead of balls, roll the dough out to a half inch thickness on a floured surface and create the desired shapes.

- Bake for 8 - 13 minutes, or until edges start to turn golden.
- Remove from oven, cook for a few minutes, and you're done!

Notes and things I learned along the way:
If you'd like to decorate, you can do this after you have baked if you are using icings, or if you want to add sprinkles, you can add them on before baking.
