Aglio e olio, which translates to "garlic and oil" in English, is probably one of the easiest (if not THE easiest) authentic Italian recipes there is.
It is easily customizable with whatever you would like to add or change.
It is also a very good food for if you are sick or just need a quick and easy pasta to make!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 pound of your pasta of choice
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup dried parsley, or 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic, or 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1/2 - 1 cup parmigiano-reggiano cheese*

Recipe:
- In a medium pot, bring water to a boil, and add the pasta.
- Cook the pasta accordingly to the type of pasta you chose.
- Drain the pasta and transfer to another bowl.
- In a skillet over low to medium heat, add the oil and the garlic. When the garlic begins to slightly brown, remove from the heat.
- Add the oil and garlic, parsley, and cheese to the pasta.
- Top the pasta with extra cheese if you prefer, and serve.
