I mean... Everyone has to post their favorite treat some day or another! I'm not sure why I didn't get good pictures of this, other than close ups were my format for Instagram story recipes. But... It all comes out the same! I have also added quite a few alternatives to make them more unique!

Ingredients:

- 5 tablespoons butter*

- 10 - 12 oz bag of marshmallows*

- A pinch of salt

- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract

- 1 teaspoon nutmeg

- One box of Rice Krispies cereal

Recipe:

- Melt 5 tablespoons of butter in a medium to large sauce pan on low heat. For a more caramelized butter, melt on medium heat and allow to color slightly.

- Slowly add in one 10 - 12 ounce bag of marshmallows, the salt, nutmeg, and vanilla extract.

- Remove from heat when marshmallows are fully melted.

- Slowly add in and fold cereal, adding a little or as much as you prefer. Usually 3/4s of a bag will do the job.

- Butter a spatula and a deep baking dish, add in in your Treats, and allow to cool before serving. Adding to the refrigerator will help speed up the wait time.

Notes and things I learned along the way:

Other nice additions to add to the Rice Krispie Treats:

- Cherries, fresh or dried. Any fruit, really.

- Dark chocolate morsels, or even butterscotch morsels.

- Seasonal additions like Hershey's Hot Cocoa Kisses for Christmas, or softened candy corn and pumpkin pie spice for Halloween.

- Nuts like pistachios, walnuts, and hazelnuts.

- Butters like peanut butter or apple butter.

- Crushed oreos.

- Sprinkles.
