I can blame my husband for this one. One night my husband asked me if I could make him an omelette. I informed him I had never made one before, but I would make an attempt. I'd like to say that attempt was a success.

Ingredients:

- 2 eggs, or however many are desired.

- 3 tablespoons butter or margarine.

- Your chosen fillings.

- Pepper

- Salt

Recipe:

- Crack your eggs into a small bowl and whisk until combined.

- Place the butter or margarine into a medium pan on medium heat and let melt.

- When melted, pour in your eggs, add however much pepper and salt you desire, and let cook until the top of the egg begins to look firm, but still a little wet. You may need to move around any runny egg into the skillet to allow to cook.

- Add in your fillings onto one half of the egg, and flip the other half on top. Let cook for 2 minutes.

- Slide the omelette onto a plate, and you're done!

Notes and things I learned along the way:

If you are using adding fillings that are meat, make sure you precook the meat, as they will not have enough time to cook in the egg.

You can also use oil to cook the omelette, but butter will typically add more flavor than a standard cooking oil.

The salt and pepper can really be added at any point in the cooking. Either while whisking the eggs, as the eggs are cooking, or after, to act as a garnish of sorts.
